Finally got my bike to the dyno to get the fueling check and it seems that is is perfect first time, maybe just raise the needle a little as getting close right at the top end. Spec is 1ua Barrels 1mm o/s ported by mick abbey to Glyn's spec Wiseco 795 pisons Re profiled and o ringed head by Glyn TSS +4mm balanced long rod Crank TZR reeds PWK 28's ( 36 pilot, 135 main ) Standard air box and filter ( lid drilled ) TSA stainless pipes Zeel tronic ignition and PV controller 73.22 hp @ 9600 41.30 ft-lbs @9200 Could get more from more aggressive advance and more airbox modding along with getting the squish lower but I am very pleased with the result. The plan was to build a fast grunty motor that was not too balls out and did not need its nuts revved off. Now makes at 7k what a standard one does flat out. I know all dyno's are different but the last 350 lc he dyno'd made 35hp Steve

What sizes are you going up to ? What is low running like as those pilots are tiny Only going up 1 size on main for now to see how it affects it. At top end the air/fuel ratio is around 13 but preferred nearer 12 so not far out. Probably also going to go down the v force reed route which should also help along with looking at squish and compression just to see how they are. May end up nearer 80hp As for the pilots I am still not sure they are right, still seems rich as still a slight splutter on neutral throttle which I can live with but has got a lot better each time I dropped the pilots although need to take the air screws in half a turn I think as since the colder weather it is not happy at idle until at full running temp. It's bloody good now so any gain will be a bonus Never got mine dynoed this year with my Kenny pipes It would be just a bonus as the main reason is safe mixture, reeds are just a progression to see if it improves the slight splutter as it seems to spit back a bit of oil through the carbs which can't be helping. As for yours, GET IT ON A DYNO , Kenny been ripping me all year for it, said I was a girl for not wanting to get it wet. Well today I was a man and sh1t my bike is manky To be honest you get a good feel by riding but dyno backs it up but still always room for improvement. Steve

Steeveeeee...that is some mod!! Going further? I am tempted, will deffo get up jetted and V force reeds fitted. Will then check squish and compression to see if I can fine tune them. Steve

Just spoke to Kenny and it turns out it's running lean so bigger jets in order. mmm more power ;D Steve I just looked at the graphs before reading the rest of the thread and was going to say it's running lean. 13:1 is OK for a 4 stroke, but I'd aim closer to 12:1 for a 2 stroke. Turbocharged engines run happily at about 10:1 so I wouldn't worry about running too rich. Worst case is it'll go a bit fluffy (which is a better position than worst case if you run it too lean!)

Think that is why the dyno operator said main jet was spot on, they don't see many strokers. After speaking to Kenny it would seem 11 to 12.5 is what I should be looking for. Just unsure whether tho go 1 size or 2 up. All a bit irrelevant at this time of year as won't be seeing much more action now that the road salt has started. Was lucky on Saturday as it rained heavy the day before and then stayed mild so washed it all away. May just strip top end off if I get time to sort a couple of niggles, one cosmetic as the paint on one barrel blistered when heated and the other is power valve alignment. Valves were shaped to port by mick but due to sh1t cast valve I had to alter one bush to stop it binding meaning the valve sits 1mm off centre so really need to sort that at some point. Steve
