I am getting the odd pop sound like a miss fire at very low revs. it would be about 30mph at 3-4k revs little throttle. just changed pipes and everywhere else it runs great with no issues....just wonder what pre-detonation feels like......worried its running weak at low revs. Or do they all do that.........when accelerating you can here the odd pop like a miss fire on the bike you can't feel it just the sound.

May be worth changing the plugs . looking at the spark plug caps and pulling the leed to ensure its not broke in side and arking and pop the exzorsts of and look up at the piston rings to see the pistons look fine . It may be nothing but you dont whant to over look somethimng that may get worse on a thrash .

Thanks. You made me think now as the LH plug cap is a little lose. It does not sort of clip in position. Sprayed a bit of WD40 onto the RH side as it locks in place and is diff to remove. Wonder if its this.....
However it only does it at 30 to 40mph at low revs 3-4k on very little throttle. above this its fine. When riding.
Listening to the bike riding away though you can here a sort of miss/pop on acceleration but higher the revs it goes away. Not sure could it be a bit of a carb issue. running rich or weak.
Bike starts 1st kick even when standing for a week

I'd be cleaning the carbs first, pilots, mains and emulsion tubes.
Might be just a little lean with new pipes. When I had Gibsons on mine it tended to hunt a bit where you are talking about.

Might be worth checking the timing. Is the bike new to you? is it tuned? skimmed head? "Pinking" does sound odd! (can't really describe it)

Might be worth checking the timing. Is the bike new to you? is it tuned? skimmed head? "Pinking" does sound odd! (can't really describe it) Had bike for a while. All standard apart from new pipes which I went 2 up on the mains so had carbs off I wonder. Going to clean carbs, change plug caps (LH is a bit lose) and turn the mixture screw in to richen up low down I think. May even change the plugs. The faullt (if a fault) is very mild but it does sound like a miss fire but the bike runs great with no issue everywhere else. Could end up just being a mild carb'n issue at 3k that I keep hitting at 30mph... Need to get out and have another proper test after doing the above.

What pipes you fitted. Microns a bit of a mare in the mid.
Also 2 sizes up may be too much, have only went up 1 in the past.
On my latest build I went too rich and was quite spluttery going from pilot to main jet.

On my latest build I went too rich and was quite spluttery going from pilot to main jet. Steve Kenny's road Pipes. You cannot actually feel the pop back on the Bike it feels strong and does not jerk/hesitate or splutter its just this odd pop back sound now and again at low revs. In fact at 7k the bike just takes off to 10k. Its now a bloody wild animal compaired to the standard pipes and Nikons. Currently on 260 jets v 240 standard. not done a plug chop yet. Also for record its a K31 YPVS. Seen some on here suggest 260s for Microns. Perhaps I should try one jet lower and see how it effects it. Still keep thinking it could be:- 1) Plug cap - did spray some WD40 into one. LH one not clipping in postion as well 2) Plug breaking down - but would this not do it through the whole range...? 3) Weak at low revs ie. on pilot...being issue at 3 -4k revs 30mph Some messing about I think this weekend..
