bought myself a 1983 lc2 ypvs project. when ive looked round the bike there is no 2 stroke oil pump so im just going to mix it in the tank , but im not sure what ratio... can anyone help...

Normally run about 30 to one but would start at 25 to one and do plug chops. Better too much oil than not enough

I have a 350 oil pump for sale if you want to put bike back on autolube

Ditto on the above More oil is only a 'problem' if the plugs foul. Besides Oil is still, even today, way cheaper than pistons I use ~24:1 and my plugs don't foul and the combustion chambers and ring lands are clean.

thanks for all the info... is the ratio the same even if i use say shell 2t or i would really like to use castrol or bel ray for that classic racing smell if these are still available lol .. can anyone tell me. thanks again for any info. which oil is best for the smell and what ratio as i do believe they are slightly different

Don't think the ratio is any different and I use putoline tt sport synthetic oil in the autolube and then put 30ml of castrol A747 in a full tank of petrol for the smell of castrol R
