Hi, got the 125 out last week to give it a run, but failed miserable, so off came the carb and fuel tap, (as I think the tanks been lined, and now it's disintegrating and blocking everything) I was even getting the throttle slide sticking in the carb, but it hasn't been run for a year or so. Question is, after I stripped the carb, the needle valve doesn't have a little rubber 'hat' it's just solid ali, now most carbs I've seen, the needle part is rubber. It seems to seat ok, but it did drain the the tank after I bought it, due to an overflowing carb.
Is the normal or do I need to replace the needle? there doesn't look to be a groove where the rubber should be???

Hi mate,
Are you talking about the inner needle point that seals the hole when the float rises ?.
If so, they are often solid without the pointy end being black (it's not rubber)
Normally the outer part (outer body of the needle valve assy) that fits into the carb body that has a groove with a rubber seal in it to stop the fuel leaking past that point and into the float bowl.

Thanks, yes thats the part, always thought they were a rubber cap. I did blow through it and it seemed to seal ok, but petrol will always leak through a bit easier.

Make sure you have a washer on the valve seat or it won't seal properly I had much the same problem
