I was going through stuff in the loft the other day and came across these old pictures of my old RD350LC and thought some of you might like to see them. You’ll have to excuse the strange paint job but in my defence I was only 18 and went a little mad with my colour schemes.I bought it with the LC2 headlight bracket and clocks and added the bikini fairing later. I had plenty of access to spray paint back then so the bike was constantly changing and evolving until one day a kindly gentleman decided to get a little drunk and them drive home. I was minding my own business when the PR**K decided to turn in front of me and I hit him head on. I was very fortunate in that I didn’t hit the vehicle but flew over it for about 30 feet, I will always remember how strange it felt spinning in the air for what felt like ages with my arms and legs being throne outwards until I hit the ground narrowly missing the payment. The force of the impact was so great that my shoes and helmet came off and they couldn’t find my helmet for a while as it had disappeared into the bushes. I still suffered a shattered wrist and could not walk for 3 weeks. Unfortunately as you can see the bike was not so lucky and was a complete write off but at least I managed to write off the car as well, it was a Ford Contina Pickup for those of you who don’t recognise it. Incidently the driver only got done for reckless driving and avoided the drunk driver charge by saying he was so distraught after the accident that he went for a few drinks in the nearby pub. I never did see the driver or get any compensation or apology from him. HEY HO!
If you look closely you can just see his number plate.
