Hello Chaps, I’m just about to pick up my rebored barrel, and new piston kit and get the top of the engine fitted back to the bike. I have a Micron small can exhaust that I’m going to fit to the bike (it was running a de restricted standard exhaust) and it’s running a 10W carb with standard airbox. It has the standard 155 main jet fitted but I was going to try a 170 to start with. I’m wondering if I need to adjust the oil pump as I’m running a bigger jet (due to the Micron)? Does it need adjusting or would I be fine running a Micron with a 170 main jet? If it does need to be adjusted could someone tell me how this is done? As I’m going to be running the engine in for around a hundred miles or so I can’t really do a plug chop. I’m not looking forward asking the bike to pull my 15 stone carcass around at under 6000rpm

Hi. I run a Nikon and have gone up from 195 to 210 main jet and all i did was turn the oil pump cable adjuster so its about 2mm past the mark on the pulley

Hi Adjusting the oil pump past the alignment mark will not increase oil output at full throttle, this will only add more oil to the rest of the throttle range, to lubricate the engine more at full throttle you will have to add oil to the petrol tank, i use Motul 710, keep standard oil settings and just add a 50cc or so to the petrol tank once ive filled up. Worked for me on a stage 3 350lc stan special for years.
