Hi all. First time post. Ive just bought what I think is a Mk1 RD125LC. Engine and frame numbers 10W-200888. Ive no idea why I bought it. Im 14 stones. I would appreciate any info on it. Its in a dreadful state but hopefully I can sort it out. Bright yellow frame and wheels. Headlight painted over etc. The usual. Any idea where I could get a manual etc. Cheers

Hello and good luck with the rebuild (or whatever your plans with the bike is). These bikes are very simple to deal with and you'll get a ton of help here. This is THE forum bard to come to if you have an RD imho. As for the power, I havn't tried any engine setup, but I know that with a small can Micron they run pretty damn good compared to the stock pipe! I'm 11 stone and I think it's enough power to have some fun. Be careful though, MK1's are not very stable in chikanes, don't ask me how I kow lol. Also, it's easy to underestimate these little babies and go too fast or drive too hard. In a sense, I think the 125 is more dangerous than the 350, because the 350 will at least scary you from time to time, forcing you to take it a little easy unless you want to die. The 350 makes it very clear that it is the 350 driving you, not the other way around! The 125 doesn't scary you at all, which could make you end up in trouble.

12 stone and still runs as good as I remember back when I was 18.... still a scary quick little pocket rocket my rd125 (mk1 in my avatar pic). I've got a 170+ BHP car that I use as my everyday but the little 125 still feels quick when in the powerband (I know bikes arent the same but based that on the pull factor)! get a nice expansion on it and it will loose all bottom end but about 6k it will fly (the wheels comes up in 1st and 2nd on mine ). To be honest my RD scares me, I've ridden a 750cc FZR genesis and compared its less planted, consistent and more wobbles, RD isnt the best at handling but makes for a more "interesting" ride.
