Just joined the site..thought an intro would be appropriate before I start asking daft questions..
Been riding since 1983, like most of you I imagine, ive owned or ridden a lot of the key sportsbikes since then .
Attended every type of event both at home and abroad, , I like trackdays but im no expert.
I didnt get one in this or last year due to our bi-annual foray into France, after nearly 30 years of riding ive decided going away to warmer climes with the boys is my idea of biking heaven, the excitement of getting off the ferry or train into Europe is second to none.
In 2007 I bought a new GSXR1000 K7 , after writing that off in 2010 I decided id rather have two 90's bikes than spending 10K plus on a new one, not that im knocking that route either.
In the garage at the moment I have a beautiful 1999 Hayabusa and a 1999 GSXR750 SRAD, 2 of Suzuki's best I reckon, the Busa doesnt get used a tremendous amount but the SRAD takes most of the toil, you cant beat the performance of an SRAD for the money I think.
Moving on to the latest news and the reason im here, ive bought a RD350LC, wanted a stroker for ages and now is the time. I cant tell you how excited I am, I had an 250LC back in 1985 and just buying this bike has taken me straight back to that era.
It needs some TLC on most of the metal work and small details finishing off, which to be honest I havent the time and in some cases I admit , the skill to complete...so, its being delivered straight to a local ish restorer who has done a fantastic job on a friends KR1 , next week to finish over Winter, I dont want it concourse down to the last olive green washer and bolt, nor can i afford to go that route, I just want a quality finish ,it'll be ridden as yamaha intended when its back.
Anyway, enough from me, I look forward to joining in with the banter and ill post some pics up of my strokers in the past IF I can suss this IMG malarky out.
Thanks in advance...
