Hello,
I've got myself a set of 31k carbs that I want to put on my F2 as I was recommended the 31k jetting for my bike by the guy who tuned it.
However, the carbs I have are missing the slides, needle and the tops. I assume that the tops are the same, but are the slides and the needle the same too? The needle isn't an issue as I can buy a rebuild kit that includes the needle, but the slides are much more of an issue.
Are the slides identical in 31k and 1UA Mikuni carbs?

All the slides fit but the 1UA are coated, 1UA Needle are different to 31k but I got 1UA Needle's in my 31k carbs. 31k carbs are far more easy to get right as the 1UA are PJ and are a nightmare. Carb kits, don't bother just buy the bits you need gen.
As for jetting, you mentioned "The Guy that tuned it" What did he do, what has been done, what is the spec because if you use stock 31k jetting on a ported motor with pod filters your going to be up in the 300-400 jet range and the stock 240MJ will run it lean, holed piston time.......

Stan Stephens did a mild tune on the barrels and I think he matched the bottom end ports to the barrels as well. He said it would run on stock carbs and exhausts, and it is. I'm avoiding pod filters as I know they are a complete punk to set up. I'm planning a set of Allspeeds and the 31k jetting, which is what Stan recommended to me. I may also go down the Zeeltronic route further down the line, but that is a long way off at the moment.

For one if your getting some pipes and not got any already then aim for a set of Kenny's TSA pipes or Martin77 pipes, you wont get much better than them and for the money are a bargain. Allspeeds are just off the shelf pipes, do a search on the forums.
The motor has been ported and your aiming at pipes so your not going to be on stock jet sizes, give you an idea look at other motors and specs, also yep keep the airbox if you can, makes life that little bit easy'er.
Here is my spec: Mild Tune / Clean up job ( Martin77 ) 0.9mm squish 31k carbs TZR/TZR Reed & 3mm spacer, notched block Foam pod filters Modded PV Controller 400MJ Stock Pilot Jet
Seems fine ATM but need to get on the Dyno soon to fine tune it.

If the carb kits you have seen are Keyster kits be aware they are crap and stuff does not fit correct you would be better of geting gen needles if thats all you need

Norbo ( forum host ) usuraly can get hold of most bits, Allens great for all things carb related. But dont rule out your local Yam dealer, mine will get me Gen parts cheaper than most sell after market bits for.

Great, thanks guys.
So these two people who sell pipes, how do I contact them? I've done a search but not come up with much.
I don't mind mild steel pipes as I finished off my mild steel Nikons on my old RGV quite nicely.
Norbo how much for a pair of carb gaskets, float needles, jet needles and circlips for 31k carbs?

Kenny TSA is a forum member, easy to find doing a search. Martin77 can be found on the TZR, TDR forums and also some of his work is in this months Practical Sportbike mag with his NSR-D350, find him on there Facebook page aswell. Both are good guys and both will help you out.
