been doing bits to this for a few years now.theres a few bits i want to change but i find i spend more time working on it than riding it.puts a smile on my face every time a modern sportsbike comes past and tries to leave me then looks in his mirror and i'm still there.

always been a kwak man myself. started with a z650 b1 in red then swaped it for a really nice black 350lc then another couple of lc's.i then bought another z650b1 in red which i have still got. if you are interested the mods to the zrx1100 are 1109 big bore kit, head skimmed and gasflowed, zzr cams, mikuni tmr flatslide carbs,k factory titanium exhaust, zzr ignition advancer and igniter box the chassis mods are zxr750 wheels and discs, nissin calipers,zx9rb4 usd forks, brembo rear caliper, isr master cylinders, over racing swingarm, stick coils and some bits i've probably missed.had it dyno'd a couple of years back and it was making 150 at the back wheel.

Thats a smart bike bruno2. A "proper" bike! Must admit I've never owned a kwaker. The nearest I've got was a pet duck called Rastus!!! (a right noisey ****rd)!!

My other toy is an 03 GSX1400 apart from the polished bits it looks standard but there are a few "extra bits" that assist. Nothing better than seeing a dayglo power ranger on his latest resin rocket look twice in his mirror only to see a fat bloke on his "old bike" right behind him in the twisties.

Sorry for not replying bigal1 about the carbs been offline for a while.i still have the old carbs but didn't want to sell them just yet because I have a spare frame and zzz engine and was thinking of building a turbo. I'm building a gpz900r with a zzr1100 engine but found out that the head on the zzr engine as downdraft inlets so if you do it you will need a zrx1100 head to level the carbs up or change it to injection or the carbs will hit the frame and tank on the zzr the airbox is under the tank on the zrx the airbox is under the seat i have 2 sets of zzr carbs and 1 set of gpz900r carbs but they are no good for the build i have also had to change the head to a zrx head but with the zzr cams as they are a bit of a hotter cam what started out as a easy build as been a bloody head bang job so my next job is get carbs and a biger rad i did mis out on a set of carbs on ebay they went for £100 i was guted

You can use the zzr carbs on the zrx head all you need to do is use the zzr inlets for the zrx head and the carbs fit ok

the carbs do fit but they catch the frame andf its the head that kicks the carbs up not the inlet

no what i'm saying is that to get the zzr carbs to fit on your head you need the zzr inlet rubbers as well because the carb inlet is bigger.this i cheap and very common mod for more power as long as you have got the unresricted carb tops on.you are quite right about the inlets being angled,it's a downdraft head with the airbox above not sidedraft like the rex.that is one of the reasons the zzr's give more power than the rex's and the cams of course.

had the swinging arm on for a few years now and never really been satisfied with the handling.when i bought it i knew it was longer than the original but i didnt think it would make that much differance, anyway it keeps the front end on the floor a bit longer.what i didnt know at the tgime was that the shock mounts were further back so i had to put blocks on to raise it.this has had a detrimental effect on the handling as it makes the head angle very steep,it wants to drop into corners so i have decided to have the old arm braced and powder coated black.i will be fitting it this bank holiday so i will bang some pics on and let you know how it handles

Since last posting I decided to get the original swingarm braced and powder coasted black.that's now fitted and to be honest she turns in better.i fitted ram air foam filters and took it to bsd dyno at Peterborough to get it set up.rides better than it's ever done and kicks out 155 bhp at the back wheel.they also came up with a couple of ideas about variable timing working off the throttle position which won't give me anymore power but make it better low down as it's running 4 degrees timing all the time when low down 2 degrees would do.
