Hello chaps,
My Mk1 RD has a derestricted 12A standard exhaust fitted. The restricting ring/tube has been removed from the flange end of the exhaust (where exhaust bolts to the exhaust port) but I was just wondering if this is now exactly the same as a standard 10W exhaust?
Is there any more restriction further down the exhaust i.e. in the expansion chamber? Is the only difference between a standard 12A and 10W exhaust pipe the restricting ring/tube in the flange end of the exhaust?
I was looking to get a standard 10W exhaust but if mine is basically the same (now the restrictor ring/tube has been removed) then I’ll just stick with mine and get it blasted and then properly painted.
Cheers
Gary

Check the hole at the very end of the pipe. What inner diameter does it have? I know there is one pipe model that has a smaller ID than the 10w pipe. Going from memory, the restricted pipe has "Y11" or something like that in the serial number/letters.
Edit: I don't know if UK got these pipes though. I've never seen them mentioned.
