I have a set of mph from an 350LC on my 31K and as I am in Norway could really do with changing them to kph. We could do a swap? what condition are your clocks? The ones I have are OK, the colours are a little faded and there's couple of scratches on the back. (Will try to post some pic's)

Just to clear this matter up. I have a german import and I bought an overlay on ebay to convert it to MPH. Works a treat but was a bit fiddly to fit. Its designed to convert kmh to MPH and just buying a Uk overlay won't work. I went past a speed check digital roadsign today and it said 37 and I was doing 37 so seems spot on to me.
Regards Jason

All 72 locally manufactured cars has a dual dial on the speedo ie the larger part of the dial read Klm and the smaller MPH. The needle and speedo gear in the background work exactly the same. As far as I know or can see there are no reaso as to why it wouldn't work The position of the needle is the same irrespective what the writing say ...Eng, French jap or Kph or MPH or whatever else you want

Thats what i thought. I did find a convertor that you attach to the back of the clock or into the wheel. Going to do a bit more research. I accept the overlay facts but a little confused with sideways explanation.

If you fit an overlay to a km/h speedo the speed will read in mph but the mileage will still clock up in km

Moving off the topic , my lad had a cagiva mito 125 with an overlay on . he kept getting pulled for speeding around our town ,, he would swear they had it in for him as he was claimed to stick at 30mph . turns out the previous owner had fitted the overlay wrong and was 10mph out .

Photoman, Apart from the rotary trip and distance readings the speedo needle can be done either way no problem as it's a linear range on both counts. You simply need to ensure the MPH/KPH ratio is graphically scaled at 1.60934 i.e when traveling at 1 mile per hour the needle needs to reflect 1.60934 KPH and so on - alternatively it can be reversed with a KPH/MPH linear ratio of 0.621371 like 200KPH = 124.274MPH Hope this helps Zoom zoom - Bad Munstereifel

One of the things I've got to do to mine is either find some kidney bean M.P.H clocks or find out how to covert KPH into MPH. I'm guessing finding a set is as fruitless as looking for Lord Lucan reading yesterdays newspaper?
