I am thinking of fitting 17" wheels to my 1989 YPVS 350 F2. I don't want to go wider than the stock tyres, but I would like to be able to fit a better range of modern tyres. Is there a Japanese bike from the 80's / 90's that I could use the 17" wheels from. Thanks

Early FZR 250/400 stuff probably your best bet, not sure how much modding needed to fit but if you could get hold of late jap model RZ 250 wheels and front end. May be same as FZR which would be an easier option Don't think you will find much to go in the standard forks. www.rd350lc.net/3HM88bck.jpgFinding a set might be your biggest problem. Steve

SZR 660 although just as hard to come by Just gotta find the right suspension settings for my wet j-cloth wieght as it is a tad hard in the bumpys, but get a smooth roundabout and it really digs in well

You can also try the TZR 250 wheels, forks + set up. They are light in weight + you can adapt modern day SBK calipers. I am sure it will be one of the best mods.

If you check ebay just now there is an RZ 250 project on there which I think has 17's as standard but not 100% sure.
Selling off the other parts would get some of the money back.

I've got a 1988 RZR250 (3HM), comes with 17's as standard.
Tubeless rims. Front J 17 x MT 2.15M (Twin DisK) Standard tyre 100/80-17 52H
Rear J 17 x MT 2.50 Standard tyre 120/80-17 61H
No sure what year they changed from 18's but the later ones are 17's. I've been told they're the same as early FZR400 rims.
