I've just bought a 1989 RZ350 F2 YPVS to go vintage racing & find the front brake feel a bit wooden. Does anybody know the size of the piston in the front brake master cylinder? Or a replacement master cylinder that will give a better feel? How about the size of the pistons in the front calipers? Are there any aftermarket disc rotors? Thanks

Replacement caliper pistons and seals are £20 a side you need 2 per caliper and a mas cyl rep kit is £17 so that will sort it all out .
However you can fit R1/R6 disksthey will bolt right on and a set of 4 pot calipers and make a bracket to make them match up to the disk.
and Welcome to the forum .

The standard master cylinder piston is 5/8 inch (15.87 mm). Might be worth trying a master cylinder with a 14mm piston off a modern sports bike (R1 etc). There will be a bit more travel at the lever so you'll need braided hoses but I assume you'll be running them already. Should have more power though. Might also be worth trying different pads?

Fit the Master cyl from an LC 250. Yes!! Miraculous 'feel' improvement, seriously recommended. Perfect size, easy to buy and even looks the part
