I just bought this one two days ago. It is my fourth 4LO in 26 years and the nicest one I have every owned. It was restored from the frame up by a guy in Edmonton Alberta who I am positive spent a lot more putting it back to near pristine shape than he sold it to me for.

Its been a little over 3 months with this bike and I am LOVING IT! I have spent the time ironing out a number of small details that got overlooked in the initial build. I had a set of expansion chambers lying about so I threw those on and have been playing with the jetting ever since. It seems the guy who built the bike thought of almost everything except giving the carbs a thorough stripping and cleaning. Having seen the gunk buildup inside the poor carbs it amazes me the bike ran at all. I have cleaned and flushed the carbs in every way known to man in addition to replacing a bunch of small bits and seals. I also added a set of 6mm spacers and Boysen dual stage reeds and am in the process of building a custom boost bottle. A Nitron shock and fork springs have been ordered. Once those arrive I have to pull the forks apart to replace leaky seals at the same time. Of course it is winter now so cant try out all the mods and improvements till spring. This is what the bike looked like just before going into the garage for the winter. And no, those are not OEM mirrors but I like them and I wasn't after a totally stock looking bike.

Bit of an update: The expansion chambers are off the bike again because I discovered one was broken inside and needs to be fixed. So we are back to OEM pipes but the winter carb cleaning and a few minor tweaks have the motor running better than ever with absolutely no midrange stutter. looks great loving the finish on the engine casings and the pipes really do suit it Too bad whatever paint was used is NOT gasoline resistant. Everytime any fuel is spilled or dripped on the paint it begins to come off. Image how difficult it is to change jetting without getting a drop of fuel on the engine side cases. I did get the progressive fork springs and they made a HUGE difference. Still having issues with leaky fork seals but they problem is greatly reduced now. Never did get the rear shock but that is on the list ... maybe for next year. I got sidetracked when I bought my wife a 1990 F2 so she could ride with me. She seems to be adapting quite well to the 2-stroke but it gives me yet another bike to sort out.

Yeah , I know what you mean I've got to do my cases again on the LC and the F2 has developed an oil leak, hybrid needs finishing, ride height to sort on fzr1000 Genesis having just put in exup back end, several other projects need finishing, but last night thrashed the nuts off the 3xv . Big grins.

Nice bike mate, my favourite colour. Shame about the paint issues, I've had the same happen on my ypvs.

A Lovely looking bike. Shame about the paint being affected by petrol. I also agree that this is the best colour scheme.
