Just intorested in whats the fastest the MK1 MK2 or the ypcs MK3 or are they all the same . Im talking with a pipe on not stock as i know they are all 12BHP and all 75mph in that trim.

Only the UK models are stock at 12HP to comply with our learner laws. The 10w model was 21hp std, as were most other European models. There's not much difference in outright performance between any of the bikes in unrestricted form but the YPVS models have a much better spread of power and are nicer to ride unless you ride everywhere in the power band ;D.

No I don't mate but I do remember yours. When I had mine new in 83/84 I had a small can Allspeed fitted on mine and never got beaten by another whatever pipe it had fitted. I've got a modified short can Micron on my 10W Mk1 I have now and it goes very well. I've also got an Allspeed that I fit sometimes and that feels like it pulls stronger but stops dead around the 9.5k mark ;D

when i was a lad my mate had a mk1 with a bean can micron boyson reeds and it just did the ton that was in 1984 and we all were abit lighter then

A friend of mine back in the day had a mk1 with micron,ledar kit and Stan Stevens tune clocked him on my Gs750 at a ton on the flat.His girlfriend at the time had a matching 80lc which had a 110 kit on it that was quick as well.

Here we go again........ my mates was this fast ,my other mates was that fast......even norbos 125 was never offically timed (as far as i know prove me wrong norbo) AND it offically (too lol) stops being a 125 with a bore kit..... so here is the fastest ever rd125lc ever FACT.... genuine 108mph.... i got the post up here somewhere with the details in and ive posted up the entire artical on the rd125lc forum...... enjoy......

Well if we all had Micron's money back in the day then i am sure alot of us would of had 125 that did that and i remember the artical well.What is it with this has to be 'FACT' AND 'PROVEN' AT 17 If my speedo said a ton then thats what i was doing it's just the same with the 350's now must get 'X' bhp well NUTS to all of that no one ever cared back then because they were quick for there time and if you want a bike with big horses go buy one.Now both of my 125's will do 110 'FACT' how do i know because my ARSE DYNO tells me and my 350 must be doing at least 150bhp and will do 175 mile an hour wheelies why cause i have a boost bottle!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sorry if this upsets any body but just had it with all this power bollocks just ride and enjoy and if your bike goes like a rocket ship to you thats all that matters.

I do agree with you in part mate...but if we consider the actual question asked "whats the fastest RD125" id say that has to be backed up with some facts and not an arse dyno...they can be miles out...

How fast is a RD125? Faster than an RC30 FACT!! In 1990 I had a trip out to 3 sisters. My old racing buddy was there struggling with an RD125. I sorted the carb and he lapped faster than an RC30 that wasn't hanging around either!!

Right back to the question.......... Talking to an old Rd friend yesterday about this at Nans wake and this is what we came up with no one knew what there 125 did but back in the day we all used to race each other round here and there was always one 125 which was quicker then the others(this being the one i said about earlier) The speedo on it used to go past the ton so that was it after a couple of people rode it to confirm ;D So then the story of this ton up 125 goes round and it's still talked about today.We know now it never did it but being 17 what your speedo said 'IT DID' It did then factor in getting off of a fizzie etc these things were rocket ships ;D
