rd400

just bought this rd400. been after one for a while. it has matching numbers and it is a cdi model so no points to worry about. its not been run for years so carbs are off at the moment. seat base is like new. i am going to get it running then register it use run it for a few months then treat it to a new pair of mudguards and a repaint in yellow. the silly rack will be the first to go and put the indicators back in the right place...

Thats nice mate
Most of the German imports apear to have a rack.
Frony muddys are still available and there are good pattern rears about, tbhe German rear muddys are longer than ours and thats the correct place for the indicators on a German spec bike, the UK indicators are a longer stem.

nearly every bike i have had from germany has had a rack fitted. going to get a couple of mudguards off norbo and put some more rear indicators on. cant wait to get an mot on it and get it on the road

thanks.... make me an offer on the rack cant wait to take it off. not my sort of thing but handy if you do a few shows to put all your gear on. the chrome is fairly good and with a bit of metal polish it should come up nice.

looks pretty original and tidy , be amazing what proper mudguards and ditching the rack will do for it
