just a quick one thats annoying me i have a tinkering rattling noise on my mk1 it only happens when the bike is warm and generly when pulling off in first gear and low in second gear fine when going fast it seems to be coming from the ignition area has any one else experience this

check your ignition rotor nut is not coming lose

check your keyring aint rattling on your bars,lol. i searched for a rattle for over an hour before i realised. doh

definitly not key ring or keys been down that route already ignition rotor nut daft question i no but wheres that? do u mean flywheel rotor nut

doesnt seem to be coming from that left side and strange it only makes the noise when the bike gets warm tink ill where ear plugs or just cain it every time i hav aride seen has doesnt do it when thrashed lol

check plastic gears on inside of clutch cover that drive oil and water pump they make a sound like that when a tooth is coming off gear

i had the mother of anoying noises on my mk1, pulled the motor down twice rebuilt it the second time with a low mile 12a bottom end still had the noise ended up changing the crankcases and that cured it,

nothing looks out of place with them but the noise was defo transmission related, so something is worn in the cases, i have not had time to have a goos inpection yet as it was a relief to get it sorted but i will see whats what next week

just a quick one thats annoying me i have a tinkering rattling noise on my mk1 it only happens when the bike is warm and generly when pulling off in first gear and low in second gear fine when going fast it seems to be coming from the ignition area has any one else experience this I had this on the 350.Turned out to be the centerstand rattling on its mounting pin, caused by the resonance of the L/H exhaust through the rubber buffer. A squirt of spray grease sorted it. Useful, as it tells me when the centerstand needs lubed. ;D ;D

check it out next time i go for a spin noticed the back brake spring which attaches to footpeg hanger was making a bit of noise when i tapped exhuast iwill have to go for a spin when i get time and cheers anyway guys
