well people , went for a little ride out this afternoon , nice nearly home and bang one hell of a scrapping noise from transmission side of engine so looks looks a re build sooner than i was planning gutted to say the least

sprocket coming off? or other side of engine, clutch nut loose, water pump bearing, clutch plates broken, crank f~~~d, crankcases broken in half, hard to tell really, sounds like you haven't even had a look round it to me, dangerous to go riding out on it?

it was fine before hand , engine out stripped , looks like the gear shaft thats higher up in box has got hot shaft is blueing all bearings run fine and quiet so looks like i need the top shaft and gears /selectors have worn too, crank is fine cant understand why its got hot there was oil in there

Befor you get to worred have you looked at the fly wheel to see if its come loos . some times that can make a hell of a racket and people think the engin has fallen apart and the like and its just the flywheel come loos and clattering about in the cover. more so on an lc as the cover is alloy but its worth alook .

no the flywheel was tight its definately gearbox bits , acquired a new set today well new as in new to me and in great condition so just need a gasket set and rebuild the engine back together ,fingers crossed should be all good,
