Sounds daft but worth checking sprocket ratios

sprockets are 16 front and 46 rear would it be that its a deristricted engine and a restricted carb seems its all a 10w head and so on with a 12a carb

Spokets are fine heads fine carb is jetted standard so unless you have got a micron on its could be something blocking your carb give it a good clean and blows out

carb been cleaned , correct me if i am wrong but a standard 12a restricted carb is fitted with a 195 main jet and a 2.5 air jet , 0-2 needle and the 10w de ristricted carb is fitted with a 155 main jet a 1.0 air jet and a 0-8 needle , so if i have a 10w head, exhaust with hitec reeds should i no tbe using a 10w carb , i understand that the carb i have is jetted standard bu twith everything else 10w would it be beneficial to get a 10w carb

Heads have 10V on im sure i doubt its ur carb as they work on throttle position as such.Read the Mikuni carb tuning bit in TECH SECTION. I dont think any rev out in 6th. mine will do 80 all day everywhere in 4th but show it 5th gear n u have to have the revs right up in 4th to keep it in the band Id say go down one on front sprocket or up 2 on the rear and good luck finding a 10W carb ;D

I agree with mellow fitting a 10w carb won't make a difference go back to basis do a plug chop check your kneedle valve ,make sure your choke circuit is clear also fit a standard reed block and check the rubber around the reed block for a good seal .if you need a standard reed block I am sure I've got one you can have foc

It's might make a difference but only if the carb you got was clean should get the same results with a clean 12a and a unrestricted exhaust

That's your problem you need a standard air box in the meantime try upjeting to compensate for the increased air flow I've just sold my spare air box to snowbound so good luck getting one

What does it say on the exhust? We had a Y11 (or something like that, I can't remember the exact serial numbers/letters atm) exhaust on dads 125, and it was restricted like mad. We then put on a 10w exhaust and hey ho, it went fine.
