Does anyone know if the nut on the balance shaft which holds the gear on is the same on mk1 & the mk2? Mine had a small nut which was nearly the same as the clutch nut but when i tried to nip it up it fouled on the the shoulder of the balance shaft so I tried a Mk1 on which is counter bored on the back side and it fits spot on? On checking the microfiche of the 12a and the 1gm models it gives a different number??? Think i'll be going with the mk1 nut
