I have recently got my RD400 special back with IMO the the pipes she has always deserved ;D When I built the bike back in 1996 I fitted a mint set of Allspeeds which were all I could afford/get at the time, they were very good but to be honest were always a compromise as I wanted the bike to sit higher but that meant the chain would rub on the top of the pipe due to the offset of the wider RGV wheel Luckily we had made the top shock mount adjustable so I could adjust the ride height with shims at a later date........quite a bit later! When I took the bike to Martin Newlyn I had spent quite some time designing exactly where they were to sit on the bike, angles and exit point, side stand stop, rubber mounting and cans etc etc With Martins expert skills and advice we put the bike in his workshop and work began back in March, after a few emails with progress pics, phone calls, and lastly a site visit before final welding could be done Martin finished them on our agreed date for collection At last the bike is finally home, up and running and passed its MOT today ready for the RD Aircooled rally this weekend. I'm over the moon with both Martins workmanship and the overall finished product and would reccomend Martins skills to anyone ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D So what do you guys think to the end result??

Furking stunning.
Martin is a true artist. I will be asking him to make my RD400F pipes in Stainless. He also made the pipes for Project X the Aircooled RD club bike.

Cheers for all the positive comments fellas ;D It's very rare that I let any one work on my bikes as I am always disappointed (too fussy I guess) with their work but Martin is an exception to the rule Not only do they look the part and fit all my requirements they also sound sooooooooooooooooooo good Something tells me he might be a bit busy after the RD rally this weekend
