Sorry for the post heading but just got off the phone to my mate Chris who lives in Newcastle ,last night he had his trusted and well used F2 and his near mint rd500 stolen, the f2 is reg D50 KJT had nearly 70k on the clock,he had just been on a good euro trip on it,the 500 isA538 MWD and has a thunder cat front end etc, don't suppose he will see either bike ever again, every thing has all ready been said on the people that do this sort of thing but it still make you sick, make sure all your bikes are secure as they can be lads!

One word here - CAMERAS. I can't recommend CCTV highly enough - we had some members of the dearly beloved, hard-working Irish travelling community staying on some playing fields near out house about this time last year. Needless to say, there were plenty of thefts, break-ins, etc., although our local council Gypsy Patronisation Unit insists it's not the travellers, who are hard-working, misunderstood, victimised, pay their taxes etc etc. I installed CCTV all around our house and my IT genius son linked it to our computers with recording equipment as well. It all cost only £300. SO DO IT - if you can rebuild a bike engine, installing CCTV is simple.

i would rather spend £300 on ground anchors and chains, because cameras dont stop the stuff being stolen, just gives them a platform to wave and be put on youtube!!at the end of the day they dont give a toss that, even if they know there on camera, they get caught, and if they do they only get a asbo or something fooking stupid like that!!!!you got to make the items not possible to be moved,ie ground anchors etc.if you have a lock-up or shed that is away from the house, then dont put your pride and joy outa sight, sad i know, but thats the way it is unfortunatly.mine is(or will be)in the living room like all my bikes have been since my first LC in 85 was nicked!!!either that or its gonna get teethed by some scrote who dont give a shite about you or your bike!!! old saying...lock it or lose it! ::)sorry to hear bout your mates bikes,he must be well gutted about both, but especially the 500 i would be out with a fookin gun if it were me

Thats some good news, hope its not wrecked . the people (& I use that term loosely) who do this sort of thing dont care about the angst & heartache they cause others. But the really sickening thing is that there is no deterent for this verminous behavior ( & they are probably being kept in food & clothes by the taxpayers!!!!!)

In the short time i have been on this forum this is the third theft, when are we going to start punishing the toerags properly, lets start losing a few hands and see if that slows them down a bit. But then after saying that the w&%£?rs will only see it as a badge of honour!!
Hope all is recovered in as good a condition as can be mate.

We are not going to start punishing these lice until the silent majority take contol of the asylum called Westminster. Speaking to people from massively differing backgrounds, Its apparent that we all feel the same. A good start would be to remove all of societies benefits if you offend against society, & if that does,nt work cut their gonnads off!!!!!

I feel for ya mate, i have had bikes knicked from work and your heart just drops when there is only a space where ya pride and joy was parked. I have cctv, four cameras around the house and one in the garage on the bikes, 24 hr recording. If the cameras are tampered with the alarm goes off in the house and its rigged upto the net and my phone.
