Well the lc is almost finished so today i was already to start it. Pulled my tank down from the attic where is been for the last few weeks wrapped in bubble rap. Unwrapped it to find my paint work to put is short is f**ked. Looks like some how the bubble wrap has gone into the paint and left snow like marks all over it. Ive not yet opened the other panels but im expecting it all to be the same So there i was with the tank in my hands almost about to drop kick it down the drive. Think it was only the thought of how much ive spent on it kept it in my hands. So i thought f**k it let at least try and start it petrol in the tank new plugs new loom bit of petrol down the bores plugs in and kick it. Well it gets worse Its only firing on the right hand side and the exhaust is blowing from the front. taken the plug out of the right hand side, its wet so its getting petrol and there's a spark. At this point in time its coming very close to either being stuck on ebay or parked next to my other dead bike with a cover over it and left.

Manged to sand out most of the bubble wrap marks out of the tank don't know if the rest of the panels will be ok i put less lacquer on them.
Always have put a drop of petrol down the plug hole when starting from fresh gives it bit of a head start.
Ive swapped the carbs over just to see if it would fire and it did so it seems the problem is with the left hand carb.
Wish i,d seen what you had posted about the bubble wrap through.

Take some time out & have a smoke. Cat fags, 14mg bloodcurdling screams @ 2am, 3mg old boot throwing, 200mg cat turds on your freshly planted flower bed.

Do you have the pilot jets in both carbs ? Its been done before, no pilot jets, engine runs like a pig if you can start it.

There both in place, ive tried the left hand carb on the right hand cylinder it did fire not long mind as i only had the one carb fitted. But at least now i do know its a carb problem rather than the cylinder. I have noticed this hole is blocked as in i cant blow through it but i can blow through it on the other carb.

That hole is not supposed to be drilled through. Only the outside of the R/H carb and the inside of the L/H carb have pipes on and are drilled through.
