One remaining electrical problem on the NII is that the indicators dont work properly. Seem to come on and flash some times on the right hand side, but most of the time, they just stay on. On the left the back one comes on and stays on.....(left front does nothing - buld looks OK) Not sure of the relay is duff or it's more likely to be due to poor connections somewhere in the cirucit. Anyone seen this sort of thing before I bloody hate electrics!

All sorted,
I traced the problem to a bad earth in the connection in the headlight. Got some wire wool in the end of a drill and cleaned the bullet connectors (female side), squeezed the conections with pliers to make them nice & tight and hey preto. ;D
Indicator problems are tricky as the flasher unit works with a bi-metal strip which heats up to create the contact then cools down to break it (actually probabaly the other way round): if there is high resistence in the circuit, the current isn't high enough to heat the bi-metaic strip enough to break the contact, so they can come on and don't go off...... (if a buld goes, the resitence can drop (as they're wired in parallel), that's why they often flast too quickly with a duff bulb.
I'd have put a tenner on the flasher relay, but after some reading, I just went through all the connections carefully.
I still bloody hate electrics!
