May seem daft but how are jet sizes measured. Is it that a 190 jet measures 1.9mm or how does it work? I am asking as i have a set of jets that I can't read the size.

It all depends on the make
Some are sized, metric or imperial.
Others are done by flow, number of CCs of a particular fluid of known viscosity from a known height for a length of time.
I think Mikuni use 1 and Keihin the other, but can't remember which.
Use a magnifying glass, only way I can read small stuff nowadays, age & all that

Mikuni is done by flow, this is why you cannot just drill them out accurately and know where you are with them.
