hi guys me speedo on the bike has stopped working the needle started bouncing up and down around 30 mph and then stopped altogether cable seems ok any other possible causes

cable when it starts bouncin up n downthen stops well.....thats what happened on my valve

pull the whole cable out and check it,if its not snapped,it could be the worm drive in the housing!

mate ,it was usually the speedo drive at front wheel when this happened in my case.

It could be the speedo drive dog (sometimes called the clutch, or speedo drive plate) located next to the front wheel bearing. Same symptoms as mine and it was that that broke. You can get them new from Granby Motors, Part no. - 341-25149-00. They cost about £5.

thanks for the replys men ive got 3spare speedo drives so will try one of those before ringing granbys
