Iam building up my Lc and have connected up the oil pump, bled it to the screw, and connected the pipes up to the carbs, now when i built the last one it gravity fed to both carbs in about a week and a half, this one is almost there to one carb but the other has`nt moved, any imput or do i need a new pump ? PS i spent about 10 mins with no plugs in kicking it over to try and bring it up the pipe but it is just about4 mm up the pipe like it was a week ago DAM THIS OIL PUMP Ash

have you tried running the bike on a little premix with the oil pipe removed from the carbs, and hold the pump fully open (as if on full throttle) till you get oil thro ? you may need to tempararily block the pipe fittings on carbs to keep bike idling while this is done.

If you wind the throttle open and manually move the pump end up and down should this work it appearsto but only on the 1 oil line !

No havent tried that, i am wondering why it hasnt gravity fed! a few others i know do it this way also Stumped !!!! It shouldn't gravity feed there are non return valves in the outlets which stop it going back into the pump if it's gravity feeding then the valves are proberbly partially stuck open. Read this rdlccrazy.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=info&action=display&thread=12280As been said the best way to bleed is to gravity bleed to the screw with the bike not running, do up the bleed screw then start & run the bike on premix & hold the wheel in the fully open position untill all the bubbles have gone from the pipes to the carbs. Only takes about a minute with the bike running

Yep, bleed the outlet pipes with the engine running. The pump will turn over too slowly on the kickstart. One outlet always seems to bleed slower than the other one, I have found. Also, take the bleed screw out again when the engine is fully warmed up, the oil will piss out as it will be a lot thinner, there is almost always more air to come out when you do this.

how much 2 t would you put in a full tank of fuel to premix for initial startup running the pump?

when i bled my pump i only put a litre of premix in me tank holding the pump open.it took about 2minutes for the oil to reach the lefthand carb.ive got clear lines on. ive bled it twice since as there were a few small bubbles couldnt go back to black now

how much 2 t would you put in a full tank of fuel to premix for initial startup running the pump? As Mars says, just make up 1 litre. If you add enough oil to a full tank then when the oil pump is bled you are stuck with 16 litres of premix AND the autolube oil which will probably see off a set of spark plugs and cause shit loads of smoke. When the oil pump is bleed just top up the tank with petrol, the amount of oil in 1 litre of premix will then not make any differance to the way the bike runs.

1 Remove the pump, oil tank and oil-lines. 2 Blank off holes. 3 Run 32:1 fully synthetic pre-mix.
