Side stand spring question rd125lc

Hey all,this might seem a bit of a noob question but,on my rd125 rebuilds i have a side stand and a spring,then i purchased one with a spring and a plate and a i think its called a pivot bolt,i have now seen a guy selling the spring and plate and he says (This one has the auto return stub that works with the plate, if you cut off the stub it will operate and feel exactly like UK one.)
please tell me what that means,what and how

German spec bikes had to have an auto return side stand hence when you lifted the bike off the side stand it would flip up. Unlike ours where we had to use our foot. Well that's what I was told.

cheers mate,so who would leave it as a auto return,and who would chop off to make it feel like uk model as the guy says?

id probably leave it..........then get fed up with it pingin up then remove it ;D

i got fed up an cut the stub off. works just like a uk one then ....
