Do you run tubeless? there were tubes in my wheels but ive heard if you use tubes in tubeless wheels they can over heat?

They are tubeless tyres but you need tubes in them for those wheels. No problem with over heating, 'tis standard practice now on the RD's.

dont wanna hijack this thread, but which are best for hard riding? I would say most of the modern tyres. The Conti's also seem to be quite hard wearing. I expect to get a good high milage from them. Its one thing that struck me when I got back into biking 3 years ago that the tyres now are soooo much better than in the 80's.

Whichever tyre you choose.. and do so carefully :-) Be SURE that they don't have the laughable elliptical cross section of BT45 rears. Virtually HALF of that tire is simply unusable, as your handlebars would Ground.. before you got into the last 50% of that tires' tread. Makes for 'interesting handling IF you actually explore the RD's capabilities. IF you don't... ANY tire will do. Bridgestones Belong on Kia's IMO.

btw,out of interest, mine came with avon road runners fitted.fine in baking hot sunshine, till you lean over too far.........fine in the wet if you stay at home.its a wheel spinning slippery slidey liability if you take it out in rain.i replaced the rear with the same because the front still had life in it.theyre still fitted, but at 20 yrs old i dont expect them to last much longer.lol

I have them on my F2 and love them ;D The centre stands not happy, though

Rear has been re-worked but both still out there Now known as "Lasertec" "Proven tread patterns for all-weather riding. Tread pattern design provides excellent water drainage that reduces hydroplaning, enhancing wet performance for safe riding in all weather conditions. New compounds ensure higher braking performance on both wet and dry surfaces. Classic tread pattern is designed to prevent irregular wear and cupping. Multiple-Radius Contour Design is tuned specifically for the bias-tire touring segment and provides radial-type handling. High silica content of the new compounds helps provide outstanding grip in all weather conditions and reduces rolling resistance to improve mileage. H-rated for speeds up to 130 mph or V-rated for 149 mph." My 80's experiences with rubber.. Avon Road Runners = Get more life insurance (totally useless unless dry and 30C+) (Totally cool for "boil up burnouts mind ;D ;D ;D) Pirelli phatoms or Metzelers tyres of choice (Phatoms more dry sticky but never lasted) These days I've been interchanging Avon Road Riders and Bridgestone BT45's (Work year round + thrashing in free time) From new both the RR's and BT45's feel awesome, pegs down, loadsa confidence. Both appear to perform equally in the wet which is pretty good. One thing I have experienced however is that although the 45's seem to fade gradually the RR's tail off severely after about 5k miles. My next set/s will most likely be the 45's as they appear most predictable. "During the war Rodney..." That'll be 50p Sir! Old money (ME99 rear) (ME33 Laser front (as above)) Metzeler perfects

I had a 350LC fitted with Dunlop Arrowmax and thought they were great,it was only the occasional tank slappers that ever made me sweat on that bike. . . .well, and its lack of brakes. Good tyres though.
