i think its the temp gauge!!!!!although the lc mota gets hot, they run much cooler than, say,a valve,so go for a run and when the needle goes up into red, check the barrels/head,it shouldbe obviously hot,but not scalding,if its not REALLY hot,its the temp gauge.my m8 had a faulty one before. I thought about that too but it doesn't explain the coolant being forced into the expansion tank.

When you take the head off again assemble it lightly bolted, dry, and without a gasket. Shine a decent torch around the joint and look from the opposite side to see if there are any obvious 'low' areas.

Water pump is the problem, spinning then not spinning, the white cog broken up where the pin sits.

Yes coolant going back to expansion tank. Head gasket done, new impela/water pump, checked no thermostat in there, flushed radiator, all flowing freely. Maybe its ok but seams hot to me. No one would suspect that if it was all new in there.

Exactly been rebuilt with new impela, bad workmanship, but what's worse is I've found a special washer and circlip in there dancing about, its come from the end of the output shaft which is broken so the clip won't stay on. On the circlip had a residue of what appears to be araldite, think I've been output shafted, bugger.
