There is a very very talented geezer near me who builds choppers and not like occ he actually builds the frames and everything he has won awards all over europe he is the real deal. Anyway someone has just commisioned him to build a cafe racer out of a 31k. Now i am not averse to hybrids or any other mods but, the customer racked up with a mint us imported kenny roberts replica, i will try and post a pic, the only bits that will be used are the engine and the front end of the frame.
Why on earth would you trash such a lovely bike when you could just buy a junker and use that as a base, let alone going to the trouble of importing one from the states?
I have already asked about any spares coming up for sale!!!!
Even the shaun (the builder) can't understand it

Mine is done as a Cafe Racer, well so are all N models and 31k, thinking of it most of the Hybrids are a cross between a Cafe or Streetfighter. BUT if the bike is mint then it sure is a waste. Mine is matching numbers

quite often shitloads of money and respect for classics do not go hand in hand. this was made from a minter £8k machine........errrrr, any takers That looks awe full, follow the tank line and back seat, orange blob for a motor and everything like the clocks and head light are just bolted on ( as in no effot in making them blend in, part of the bike ) Sorry, guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder....

I'm with you olly, i really get doing a cafe racer, i think the lc is in the spirit of that, but to turn it into some form quazar harley is just wrong on every level. But again i respect the work thats gone into it, the quality of work looks really good
