I have transformed the running of my Lc 350 today!!
Ever since I had it it has run fairly well, temp ok during normal running but when caning it it would go nearly into the red (hence why i replaced temp sender unit recently), and then cool right down when returned to sensible riding It has always had the stutter below5k revs and i had tried all the usual adjustments on carbs etc but could noto get rid of it.
SO today i thought i would check the igntion timing properly using a dial guage, so set it up as per manual, took it out for a ride and i cant believe the difference it has made, it now comes up no problem in first and the front wheel skips in 2nd and its so much more powerful its incredible!! the clutch never ever used to slip but it does now (until fully warmed up) temp is now nearly completely stable about 3rd way up gauge and it stuuter has improved to the point that it is vitrually non existant. It feels like it has more low down grunt as well, I am one happy bunny!!
the moral of this story is check your timing properly!!! Mine was defo worth doing cheers Colin

Hi I had to move the stator plate approx 4mm so it was quite far out!

Thanks for the info . My lc2 runs hot as well, mostly in traffic as I don't thrass it much. I've already changed to a gen head gasket, thermostat, rad and pump so that might be worth looking into. It does run fine though with no stuttering or flat spots, it's just when sitting in traffic I and can see the needle going up and up.

its something i wouldnt usually check as it performed very well apart from hesitancy about 4-5k assumed that was jetting needing looking at. I may have to upgrade the clutch springs as they cannot handle the extra power it now produces!! The barrels are on maximum bore and its running large can allspeeds, temp is very stable now wether canin it or not!

Dam I knew there was a reason why I had not done it before. Removed the cover, saw the fixed the timing plate and said Doh! Wish I had read Norbo's reply earlier.
