Hi Any ideas as to the value/cost of a straight F2 frame with V5 ? Been looking at my frame and wondered if it would be cheaper in the long run to get a standard frame and just get the bottom shock mount welded in - less work for the fabricator. There is a "Q" reg on ebay near me and he wants £80.00, which is strong for a "Q", I think. Any ideas welcome. Dusty

depends on the year i suppose.between £100-250 i think is fair.i know of one going for between that, but he has matching crankcases,so i dont think he would split them???but there are plenty about dusty.£80 is not to bad for a "q",as long as the frame is good!

I would not take the Q plate for free as it just kakes the bike seem like a write off back on the road or a bitsa bike.
Would think you could get a good F2 frame for £50 - £100 easy.

Hi all, Seems prices for second hand parts are really beginning to climb now. My frame is ok, but missing a couple of brackets plus it needs the back end sorting. I thought it may be cheaper to get a good complete frame and just get the lower shock mount welded in as I can copy the existing set up, saving time at the welders. rdstars, I will be interested in the rear part of your frame once you have it back, cheers for thinking of me. Although my frame and engine numbers match, that won't really matter once I have rebuilt the bike to non standard, and have removed the fairing brackets, plus it's never bothered me anyway. I'll give it more thought Ps. My old aircooled 400 from way back was en ex Brands race school bike, and registered on a "q" plate. It was a nightmare to insure, but maybe insurance companies have a different view now, but I still wouldn't want a "q" reg bike. cheers Dusty

No wouldn't touch a "Q" plate as no body wants them and the money you spend is just dead money. There is an f2 on the bay at the minute, seller is Redrobby of Stafford, I have bought vertually all of his bits off of the frame, good guy.

Thanx for the help fellas. May have a frame in the pipeline but it's in Stafford and I'm near Heathrow Postage costs seem quite high which puts the frame out of reach. Any body used a firm recently for posting a frame and any idea of how much ? Cheers Dusty

Hi all, Thanks for all your offers and help. I have managed to get sorted locally with a decent frame Didn't realise how much was missing off my project frame until I put them side by side. All I need to do is remove the brackets for the fairing panels and get two plates made and welded in for the bottom shock mount, which I can copy off the original frame. Thanks again Dusty
