Hi, Have just set about rebuilding my calipers after a complete stip down and re-paint. I noticed when looking at Haynes (& checked in the parts catalogue) that there are supposed to be shims between the pads and pistons. The calipers on mine are the same front & rear and there were no shims when I took them apart.... Am I supposed to have shims in there or not??

I think I've answered my own question. No shims: all three calipers are like the rear one show in the manual/ parts catalogue and have no shims....
Anyone like to confirm please!

Can anyone else help on this? My calipers are the same shape front & rear althoguh are stamped differently to identify front & rear/ left & right (they take the same pads). Haynes & parts list for my model & all later ones shows shims at the front but not at the rear. I've just seen F2 calipers for sale on ebay and these clearly have shims fitted behind the pads. I have rebuilt the calipers without the shims but don't want to run them without confirmation......
