Hi men. I have my microns sort of fitted to my F2 to see how they line up.The collars are bolted to barrels with new gaskets but when i slip the pipe in and fit the rear hanger bolt if i get hold of the chamber i can wiggle it and it hits the frame where the centre stand mounts i've not yet fitted the springs but i cant see them stopping this happening. Anyone else had this or is it just me

Why do you think most cans are marked by the rear spindle and on the inside at the stand mount?
Both sets I've had do the same, very loose at front flange and the rear rubber allows them to move easily. Wait to you see how much crap comes out the front joint.
Have seen the rear mounts in the hanger modded by cutting out the rubber but leaving in the outer steel ring then using the Lc rubber mount to make them more rigid.
Also good luck with the flat spot and spluttering at 5k, personally I couldn't live with them. Hopefully yours will be better.

thanks for that ;D I am thinkin of modding the rear mount by adding another of the big silver washers which should make it more rigid As for the flat spot that everyone talks about is this because the internal stinger had been modded and cut off by someone altering the characteristics of the design My flange with the stinger on is just having the stinger part lengthened to what it should be at the local blacksmiths. If there is a huge flatspot and stuttering and loads of shite out the front join they will be coming straight back off!! ;D Cheers for the reply anyway.Glad it isnt just me

Hi Mellow, got a set on my LC YPVS. As for the oil out the flange joint, a smear of high temp sealer has sorted them - done 400 miles and not a drop yet. Had to mod mine, to fit bike as have a after market swinger on, so sorted all the fouls to frame etc when i done that !. As for the flat spot, yes mine has one between 5 to 6rpm. Bike flies after that, just going to live with it as spent too much so far, just want to enjoy the summer - anyway the bike doesn't spent that much time below 6rpm anyway - it brings the 18yr old out in me all the time - put it back in the garage panting after every run out. Going to try new two stage reeds on, currently got the original metal type, I've heard people have had improvement with this inherit running issue with this type of reeds fitted.

Both mine had the full length stinger so not that. It was more of a splutter, just annoying as it was at 65 - 70mph in top so annoying sitting at legal motorway speed. Some people say you can jet round it. Mine was up jetted 2 sizes so may have been too rich. As for the washer I have seen a washer with a bigger centre hole fitted as a spacer to make them more rigid. They were more powerful than allspeeds but liked to be revved so get ready to say hello to 11k ;D In case you are interested there is one micron can on ebay at the moment in good condition. Steve

Hi steve. Both rubbers are new so i think il try a washer or something.cant be doin with them rattling against frame and ruining them. Im sure with my carb tuning manual info they can be jetted so they are fine, even though i seem to recall bare on here saying they were fine on stock engine/setup on his i guess its just having the time and patience to keep takin carbs off n messing. As for 11k.......it would go there on the clock but i change about 9 as power is tailing off in the real world and i dont wanna blow the ypvs seals ;D i do ride it hard and as paulo says i dont spend much time on motorways or goin slow I saw the can, already asked him how long the stinger was ;D dont think its any better condition than mine to be honest,it just has the proper length stinger which mine are currently having done but thanks for the heads up m8
