Any one know what the widest tyres that can be fitted to standard wheels on a standard bike, and a decent tyre make

LC wheels are a Laughable 1.85" wide. Most of an issue on the rear though. This means most tires will be seriously 'pinched in' so that the resultant tread cross section is odd.. at best. By the way, because of this, BT45's IMO suffer the worst at this.

Why would you want to fit "oversize tyres" as stated they are oversize,ie to big, to wide a tyre actually has less of a footprint on road and is liable to be unstable in straight line due to tyre being squashed onto rim,pushing centre higher (egg effect) as stated on other posts put standard size bt 45 s or avon roadriders on, should nt go far wrong ;D
