Hi guys, I have taken the offending seat lock apart for plating and painting but i am flumuxed on how to get the helmet loop off any thoughts?

Cheers butchers, i looked at it and thought the only solution was to drill it out, do you know if you can by a new clip?

The helmet catch is held in place with a roll pin which is thankfully hollow, but fitted into a blind hole. This is what you do; 1, Drill through the center of the roll pin with a suitable drill (I think its 1mm), all the way through till it comes out of the other side of the casting. 2, Turn the job over and using a drill just smaller than the roll pin carefully drill down until you hit the roll pin, you will be dead center on the roll pin due to step 1. 3, Use this drill turned round the other way to drift the roll pin out (it can still be used again). 4, Fill the hole to about 1mm deep where the drill broke through. 5, Repaint the casting and re-zinc the loop, refit using original roll pin. Cutting the roll pin with a junior hacksaw is a no no as its as hard as fook. Sounds a right faff but its a sinch to do.

Thats really cool of you butchers, i am going to have a go at drilling mine out over the weekend and nickel plate it, but i am world famous for being bloody useless so if i c**k it up i will pm you mate.
