Like to show everyone my RD350R Brazil model. Not sure why everyone doesn't rate them. Had a 4LO and 31K and this seems to be the better bike. Anyone on the forum with a similar experience? Attachments:

I had one, same colour as yours. It was great, much better quality of finish than the Jap ones, especially the fairing, at least the lights fit the holes properly, unlike the F2.
It had been unrestricted by the previous owner, just a case of removing the exhaust restrictors. Compression is a bit less, to cope with Brazillian plant based fuel, but didn't seem to affect how it ran.
Only gripe I had was the white wheels, not a great choice on a chain driven 2-stroke.
Sold mine in '99 for a Ducati - what a mistake.

Yes mine is the same red & white as yours, and the only thing that is a problem with the bike is the wafer thickness metal the petrol tank is made from, sealing inside the tank is a must.
Otherwise a well built & good running machine, let down by prejudice started by the motorcycling press.

I love my RD350R. It has Progressive Suspension fork springs as I thought the front was too soft. Also hate the white wheels but will get them painted red.

A fellow stroker fan/friend picked it up for me,and would not hand over the wedge unless he was sure/happy,we have bought and sold a few bikes between us ;D

Ive said it before but i reckon i worked out the reasoning for the 'poor quality' remarks on the 350R. Anyone who bought one knows it's no worse built than the Japanese models, it's just that by 1995 (when they appeared in mags as Yam UK wanted to get shot of a bunch of them at cheap prices so whacked em out on tests etc) that quality had moved on and they were still 80s quality, not mid 90s when things had moved on considerably. I have yet to hear anyone who actually owned one and compared back in the day say its worse quality than any other 80s Yamaha and what most people seem to do is re-quote the mags of the day, which i find lazy journalism to be honest (and yes i should know since journalism is my trade these days). Plus these days how many of them are NOS etc now... LOL I did have one gripe... the front side fairings were long and one piece each side not like the F2 which is 3 pieces (2 sides and U shape belly), and one of my panels cracked where the joiner piece (with a long bent wire pin) was riveted. It was replaced under warranty... People did say the wheel paint flaked, but mine were perfect, tho the paint wasnt thick i will admit that, but mine didnt flake. I owned one from 95 to 2001 and it looked much the same when i sold it as it did when new. sure it was garaged and mainly driven in the dry, but it did get to go to the ring and ride round there, so it wasnt babied. Anyway, seems if people keep repeating these hearsay comments as actual facts and truths, then these bikes will forever be labelled as such; and that's a shame... FWIW, I paid £2750 OTR new (incl datatag) in 1995 for mine... list was almost 4k, but Steve at Whites did me a deal, long before Whites became the huge place it is now LOL, back then it was one shop in Sunny Swindon
