i have been wondering for a while what would be the problem with having lc barrels nikacil coated and the pistons tpc coated. i know as i have a tzr-r 125 that its nikacil and seems much more durable than a steel liner. The only thing i can think of is do the rings have to be of a certain type to match the nikacil bore.

The problem is that you would have to remove the iron liners and fit alloy ones before you could have them nikasilled. Not a financially viable thing realy.
Just had my NSR barels re=plated. Got them back today and they look lovely.

Hi mikem where did you get them replated and was it expensive? In the future will need to replate my 350lc barrels.

Shane, that is the barrels from my Honda NSR 'Noodle'! They are all alloy.
The company that I use is Langcourts near Weston Super Mare. They have been engine platers for many years. They do many racing motors so know there stuff.
