Just about finished my 125 rebuild and started it up today for the 1st time (started fairly well considering) runs great but rattles like mad from 1000rpm idle to 2000rpm then sounds sweet ,had a screw driver on while running (as a sound probe) seems to be most noisy when placed on head ,any ideas . also clutch does not work at all ,plates looked very good when i reinstalled them ,adjusted to the max very strong springs clutch feels excellent tension wise in the lever just doesn't seem to be disengaging , could this be down to wrong grade engine oil ? any ideas much appreciated

think i have sussed the rattle problem , is the conrod longer on the mk2 to a mk1 as i fitted the crank assembly from a mk2 engine into my mk1 engine casing and fitted my mk1 head and barrel ,could the piston be fouling the head ?

right had a productive afternoon ,got home from work early so disappeared into the garage ,stripped the bike down (gutted as only just got it looking something like a bike again) when i rebuilt the bottom end there was a shim washer missing off the main shaft behind the locating pin for the clutch ,i didnt have one so routed through my stock and fonud one to correct dimensions (or so i thought) turns out this was too thick and was not letting the inner and outer clutch baskets run independently ,so replaced with a thinner one and all is good on the clutch front ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D so now onto the bloody tw*t with the hammer inside the top end ,stripped it off and found the piston as slack as a d**k in a whore should have realised when i built it but its been a while since i rebuilt an engine when i bough the bike the lad showed me a piston with a piece missing from the skirt ,said he broke it locking the crank to remove flywheel so he bought a replacement 0.25mm oversize ,decided to check old piston so cleaned top and its 0.75 tried it in barrel and fits like a virgins tw*t on a monster c**ck ,so ordered a new piston kit and gasket set ,so all being well should be all running as new come the end of next week as bore looks mint cheers for advice ,this may be of help to anyone in future hence the long post ,DONT BELIVE I HAVE REBUILT THIS ENGINE happy bunny cheap fix in the end ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
