hi guys had some trouble witha pesky seized in screw only way was to drill it out ive filled the hole with jb weld what i need to know is.will it take drilling and retapping its one of the screws on the brake fluid reservoir lid 82 LC

I chemical Metal'd one of the bolt holes on my flywheel cover. It was however just a blind hole as the chain cover on the main casing has been broken off at some point. I tapped it out M6 and it now just has a blind bolt in it so it's not just an empty hole. It worked a treat!
The trouble is that the M/Cylinder threads are only M4 to that's a tiny thread, however there isn't much load on it so it might be fine.
You've got nothing to lose by giving it a try?
I reckon you'll just about be alright.

JB Weld works OK.. but despite the heavy advertising budget, it's actually a low grade epoxy. One can buy substantially better goop.

I've used various metal and alluminium based 'DEVCON' epoxies over the years and, if used correctly, usually do a wonderful job. A bit expensive but WELL worth it. Mike

thanks guys with not being an expert on the stuff. thought id try this as it had good reports anyways lets see if it will hold a thread

used it before and it worked ok just make sure its super clean before you fix it on

well guys had a go drilling and tapping the master cylinder no joy tappin ripped the jb weld straight out perhaps didnt leave it long enough left it curing for 24hours on a radiator (hot one!) got plenty more to have another go ;D how long should i leave curing?

i found it takes bloody ages to fully cure.make sure the hole is MEGA clean n rughed up a bit if poss m8
