My name is mick and would appreciate some advice please. I have seen an RD400 on the bay and wondered what every one thought it would be worth item number is 150745949172.I assume its an e model, as it doesnt say. I had one back in the day and thought with a bit of work it could be a nice stablemate for my RD350lc thanks in advance for any help mick

I love the old photos. I like the triumph I learnt to drive in a Triumph Toledo. The cars in the background and the stickers on the bike makes me laugh

paul this picture was taken the day after my 17th birthday in 1981 about an hour after i passed my test. Borrowed my mates superdream to take the test and had the 400 waiting for me at home. My dad said to me that day, now you are 17 when you pass your car test you can have the vw campervan. I said no ta its not cool and went and bought a vauxhall viva. The ignorance of youth.

So a vauxhall Viva was cool? Think of the fun you could have had shagging in the dub.

Looks a decent example that one. As Paul says worth over 2K as it is.

Looks a decent example that one. As Paul says worth over 2K as it is. That would make it more expensive than my LC

Would you say a mint 400E/F would be more than an equivalent condition 350LC?

Agree. Both bikes now have cult status, so for a minter its gonna' be silly money.

I said over £2000 and it got £2100 now thats not a bad guess. It may be worth a look on the Air Cooled RD forum Mick

I have both and like both. I will never sell my RD400C, ive had it to long and there are loads of organised Aircooled runs. I prefer the wet ones when im pout with my mate. I use my Aircooled more than the LCs but I plan on using the RD500LC a bit more this year. The DT250 is the bike I use when I go out on my own.
