My recently purchased 31K project came with chromed Micron long can pipes fitted - the LH ally silencer has been rubbing on the wheel spindle castle nut / R clip. The standard pipes have a cutaway section here to miss this. The hanger brackets etc are all in line - just looks like bad design? The clearance is very tight. No obvious way to rectify this - anyone had experience of this and how to cure? Shorter spindle with a nylock nut might just work ? I could refit the standard pipes but would need to find some baffles for them ;D

The frame and lots of bits are away being powdercoated but i put the engine back in temporarily to try the Microns before. Spacers will work, but i also plan to shorten the spindle and put on a modern metal locking nut. This is not as tall as a nylock type. It will do away with the castle nut and split pin. The Microns are only attached"firmly" at the footrest hangers, the engine end is only held in by the springs and can move a little. Plan to seal this with some RTV silicone. My bike is not being rebuilt to standard so not worried about a few updates! What model have you bought? Mine is a very early LC2 which is in need of TLC.
