Glyn ( slinger ) did mine and I think he did nikfubar's as well but he is in Canada so a bit costly with post back and forth.
Check with Norbo, was getting some YPVS cool heads I think.

Thanks for the info guys, I bought a pro-design cool head a couple years back and never fitted it, perhaps I should just fit it. I bought it with 22cc domes, how do you get the correct squish, different size domes??? I do like Rogers billet head though and you can fit a thermostat. Thanks guys Jess

Slinger used to do it but he moved to Canada Trouble with getting the standard head done is you are weakening an already warp prone piece of metal and if the engine let's go it may damage the modded head Get a billet jobbie

Thanks guys Jess Cool heads are ok'ish, but you need a remote stat for the YPVS. 22cc dome is way to big, you want 20cc really. And to set the squish you can use different thickness base gaskets. Roger is way better IMO. Glyn

i know my tuner strips the 3 layers of the head gasket and uses just one... then fits 2 base gaskets to raise the ports heights.... this is by far the cheapest most effective way tuning your powervalve. this is a method has been used for years by one of the best ypvs tuners in the country. ..............obviously all his race bike have ports honed and polished for much more performance.

further to the above...... trim the base gasket if any of it overlaps the inside of the jion..ie the flat bit where the base gasket fits.... you do not want to disturb any of the fuel flow up from the crankcase up through the transfer ports.

Think he might run into trouble doing that to the RD500 head. Glyn

Bob Farnham can do all types of machining, I believe he prefers to o-ring the barrels though, possibly because of the head strength?
