The following pads are available below but as my bike was in bits etc when i bought it probably like most of use on here how do i know i have the correct pads to the correct caliper?? so whats is the difference in calipers and what is the difference in the pads 1981 250/350 lc brake Pads FA64 1981 - 1983 lc brake Pads FA70Thanks in advance guys Karma's at the ready ;D ;D ;D Differences can be seen here FA64 fits the early/older calipers. Further to oldelsieboy's answer I have found an old Yamaha Technical Service Information Bulletin that was sent out to Yamaha dealers.
Model RD250/350LC Subject Disc Brake Pads
Please note when replacing the brake pads on the above models that there are two different types of brake pads in use.
For Engine Numbers
RD250LC 4L1-000101 - 008231
RD350LC 4L0-000101 - 007721
use brake pad kit: 4L0-W0045-00
For engine numbers after this use brake pad kit:
4W1-W0045-00
This was obviously only applicable when the bikes were new and it would be best to go by OEB's photos to confirm as many bikes have probably had different callipers put on by know.
Happy New Year to everyone here. Tone.

Or...if having every possible advantage in stopping (within the confines of an oem 'mostly' setup) Concerns you ? Find and fit Sintered type brake pads.. There IS improvement with those.

Metalised pads.. grip harder and faster. wear the disc a bit more aggressively than stockers do though. But only a minor nuisance, IF stopping is important.
