Hi As always when welding : DISCONNECT YOUR CDI,- you could cause a surge and blow it, just make sure to unplug all connectors to it!!

Hi As always when welding : DISCONNECT YOUR CDI,- you could cause a surge and blow it, just make sure to unplug all connectors to it!! cheers good advice, when i worked in a baody shop my old boss burnt out a few car e.c.u's by welding up sills and arches,we even had a newish alfa romeo that suffered e.c.u damage and wouldnt run again just from being baked at 60 degree's c

as above you will be fine ive done lots of little jobs like this on cars and bikes . Just disconect the CDI and battery and you will be fine. but ofcourse get any wiring as far away as you can from the point of weld becourse it gets bloody hot. However you can spot weld on spots so it wont get to hot with a constent weld thats a good trick i have used in the past .
