Does anyone know of ways to repair the lug that sits round the tank bolt on a 4lo seat ? Heres what i have left to work with: Also the right hand bearing retainer came off in 2 bits: What are my chances of getting a new one ? or should i get in touch with some contacts / fab shops to get a new one made ?

If you can't get a replacement seat pan cheaply enough you could fabricate a lug out of mild steel & pop rivet it on

Debatable issue but I don't bother fitting that bearing retainer. The bearing is already located by an external circlip and you have the added bonus of being able to split the cases without removing the clutch assembly. Never had any issues leaving it out.

I always fit the retainer, i figure Yamaha fitted it cos it was needed and just blindly reuse it. The seat can be repaired like Nick said as thats the same method the Gully seats use, but another pan would be simpler i think.
