Hi All, my temp gauge on my elsi 250 doesnt seem to register. I swaped it with the one of my valve which i know is ok and still nothing and i ran the motor for a good 10 mins stationary so as not to get airflow. now i know they tend to run cold and that the gauge never really moved a lot but if i remember it was noticable . i havent had this bike on the road yet and wont for a while and was wondering if you guys had any ideas bearing in mind i am no electrician. are there for example any replacable parts in the gauge its self . cheers all

You can check your wiring by touching the wire which goes onto temp sender to earth (cylinder head bolt or frame), when you do this the temp gauge should go immediately high into the red, if it doesnt then it means you either have a break in the wire somewhere or the gauge is u/s
cheers

I had a similar problem except my gauge went straight into the red. When I disconnected the sender lead it wouldn't register at all except when I earthed it. Turns out it was the sender. Got a new one from Norbo for 17 squid and no more problems. It's more likely to be a faulty sender than the gauge, so try that first before coughing up to sort the gauge out.
