Hello, I know it has probably been before. I am about to put my brake calipers back together on my '81 LC. I'm fitting new braided lines and new master cylinder/brake pistons and seals. I know the manual states to use Dot 3 brake fluid. Is there any benefit to using Dot 4 or 5.1 ? ? Higher boiling point and less moisture attraction. As far as corrosion of brake internals - what about using Dot 5 (silicone based) Ive heard different reports and wondering if anone has any experiences they would like to share. Many Thanks for your replies.
